Listen To The People

The time has come for the citizenry to send a clear message to Congress that is unfiltered by the media.
It is time for you to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, and Bill O'Reilly unless you are unwilling to do something about the wholesale changes to our country that are coming.

We can no longer trust our congressmen and women to uphold the principles in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the pusuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The Troubled Asset Relief Program became law on October 3, 2008.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 became law on February 17, 2009.

Both of these measures are serious and significant threats to the rights identified in the Declaration of Independence.

Our congressmen and women need to listen to the people protesting these steps.
But first the people need to speak.

Here's how:
On the 15th of every month we need to gather on our town square or at some other symbolic place at 5:45 PM.
We need to speak of our opposition to these measures and speak against corruption inherent in the way Congress works.
Then at 6:00 PM we will burn the symbol of US Capitol Building in effigy as a shocking demonstration by partriot citizens of our determination to end these policies and practices.
